KHAITAN PUBLIC SCHOOL, NOIDA

The Annual Sports Day was held on 12th Feb.’11 with great enthusiasm and grandeur. Mr.Chetan Sharma, Former Test Cricketer, Indian Cricket Team was the Chief Guest and Mr.Gaurav Kalra, Sports Editor, CNN-IBN and Col Shibaji Das were the Guest of Honour.

Both, guests and parents were accorded a warm welcome by the school Principal, Mrs.S.L.Gupta.  She reminded the young athletes that ability however splendid cannot command success without intense labour and persevering practice.

The Sports Day began with the March Past by senior school students. Mr.Gaurav  Kalra took the salute and declared the meet open. Col Shibaji Das, Mrs.V.Kapany, HM and a Pre-Primary teacher adjudged the March past. This was followed by fun races like hurdle race and wheel barrow race for the students of class-I. The students of classes IV & V competed in the Flat Race. The 4 x 100 Inter House Relay Race for girls and boys of senior school was thrilling and concluded in a nail biting finish. ‘Penguin Drill’ was performed by the students of class-II while the senior students performed ‘Fire Flies – Gypsy Dance’ which filled  the air with colour and excitement. Martial Art Display by the students of classes I – V had the guests holding their breath as they watched the defying stunts performed by the students. ‘Harmony’ was a fine display of yoga. Asanas, by our students, to the rhythm of ‘Shlokas’. The Grand Finale – ‘Vibrant Hues – Butterfly Drill’- a dance by cute class-I angles spreading the colour and fragrance of the flowers and the butterflies which was immensely enjoyed by everyone as was evident by the thunderous applause.

The parents felt rejuvenated and refreshed after participating in the race threading the garland and shelling the peas.

The winners, both parents and students, of the Track Events were awarded Medals and Prizes by the guests.  

Mrs.V.Kapany, Headmistress proposed the vote of thanks.
